We are thrilled to announce that the four Y5 classes have made their selections for the main topics they will be studying at their respective Educational Marine Area (EMA) sites. The selection process was a captivating journey, with our enthusiastic custodians actively engaging in brainstorming and voting to determine the topics that resonate most with them. Not only will they delve deep into these subjects, but they are also eagerly preparing to embark on a mission to bring about positive change and make a lasting impact.Let's dive into the chosen topics:
🏖️ The Gnarabup EMA: Our custodians will be focusing on studying the human usage of the beach and its impacts. They aim to explore how our actions affect this beautiful coastal environment. 🚶♀️🏄♂️
🐶 The Rifflebuts EMA: The impact of dog poo on the natural ecosystem is a topic that our custodians are eager to delve into. They will investigate the effects it has on the local wildlife and habitats. 🌱🐦
🐚 Gnarabup Back Beach EMA: Our project will shine a spotlight on the fascinating hidden fauna residing in Gnarabup Back Beach. The tiny creatures will finally receive the recognition they deserve through this exploration. 🕷️🦀
🐠 Fraggle Rocks EMA: The diversity of rock pool animals at Fraggle Rocks will be thoroughly assessed. Our custodians are excited to discover the various species that call this unique ecosystem home. 🌊🐡
The chosen topics align perfectly with the curiosity our students displayed during the exploration phase. Now that they have their study sites and topics in place, it's time to engage with experts from different fields in the coming Term 3. These experts will guide our students, help them answer their questions, and develop methodologies and protocols for their research. 📖🔬
We can't wait for the incredible interaction between our talented students and the diverse experts. The knowledge exchange and collaboration will pave the way for meaningful actions to protect and conserve our precious coastal environment. 🤝💚
Congratulations to our coastal custodians for their exceptional choices, and we wish all our students a wonderful and enlightening experience with our esteemed local experts next school Term!. 😊🌿
